Group Swim Lessons

Youth group swim lessons are more than just safety and skills: they are tailored to make swimming a lifelong enjoyment by mixing games, movement, and athletic challenge into the water experience.


Spring Group Lessons:

Wednesdays: April 3rd – May 22nd

 Cost: Eight Lessons $100 (Advance Registration Required)

What are the Swimming Levels?

Are you unsure what class would be best for your child? Have no fear — this short summary can help you pick the right class. And if you have any questions, please give the front desk a call and we would be happy to guide you.

Children 5 and under

Parent and Child

  • What you’ll learn:

    • Familiarize children with the water and teach swimming readiness skills (how to enter/exit the water, not being afraid of getting wet, building blocks for floating and blowing bubbles).

    • Teach parents safety techniques for orienting their child in the water.

Prerequisites: Parents must be in the water with the child. Minimum age of 6 months old.

Preschool Levels 1 & 2

  • What you’ll learn:

    • Expands on Parent & Child skills including jumping into the water, breath control & submerging, frontward facing buoyancy (gliding and front float), buoyancy on the back, changing direction and learning to tread water, and starting to learn how to swim on the front and back.

    • Teach parents safety techniques for orienting their child in the water.

  • Prerequisites: Parents must be in the water with the child. Generally kids are 4 - 6 years old.

Children 6+ (age is a benchmark)

Learn to Swim Level 1 - Introduction to Aquatic Skills

  • What you’ll learn:

    • Orient participants to the aquatic environment and help them gain basic aquatic skills: learning to bob, open eyes underwater, front and back gliding, back float, rolling from front to back, learning components of treading water.

    • Help develop positive attitudes and safe practices around water.

  • Prerequisites: No prerequisites.

Learn to Swim Level 2 - Fundamental Aquatic Skills

  • What you’ll learn:

    • Orient participants to the aquatic environment and help them grow basic aquatic skills: expanding to extended bobbing, learning rotary breathing, face-down floating in 3 positions, extended back float and front floats, treading water for 15 seconds, and combined arm and leg actions on the front.

  • Prerequisites: Completing Level 1 skills.

Learn to Swim Level 3 - Stroke Development

  • What you’ll learn:

    • Expanding skills to include headfirst entry into the water from a seated position, bobbing while moving, rotary breathing, survival float, back float, learning the front crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke & scissors kick.

    • Build on water safety skills.

  • Prerequisites: Completing Level 2 skills.

Learn to Swim Level 4 - Stroke Improvement

  • What you’ll learn:

    • Expanding skills to include headfirst entry into the water from a compact position, swim underwater, feet first surface dive, survival swimming, front & back crawl open turns, tread water with different kicks, swimming for distance with the front crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, butterfly, and backstroke.

    • Build on water safety skills.

  • Prerequisites: Completing Level 3 skills.

Private Swim Lessons

Private Swim Lessons

  • Days and times dependent on instructor availability.

  • Cost: $38 for a half-hour lesson. $76 for a full hour lesson.
